Job purpose

To assist the artisan assistant with all the duties of operating and maintaining bulk water infrastructure

Basic literacy

Relevant experience in a water environment will be an added advantage

Physical fitness and health

Ability to do physical work related to operation and maintenance activities for continuous periods

Willingness and ability to work shifts, overtime and standby

Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Primary functions

Dig and backfill holes and trenches

Sort, load, offload, move, stack and store materials, equipment and supplies

Assist the artisan plumber to verify reservoir levels

Clean and wash reservoirs

Assist the artisan to replace or install valves and related equipment on bulk infrastructure

Clean machinery, equipment, tools and work sites
