Appointment requirements |
Ability to perform duties Basic literacy Chainsaw Operator Certificate Relevant working experience in operating a chainsaw will be an added advantage Physical fitness and good health with the ability to carry equipment and machines Willingness and ability to work shifts Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost |

Primary functions |
Perform the reactive pruning and felling of trees and other vegetation on road reserves and in public open spaces using mechanical and non-mechanical equipment and tools, including aerial platforms and truck-mounted cranes Load branches and debris due to storms and at sites where the pruning or felling of trees and other vegetation has been done Maintain mechanical and non-mechanical equipment used in the execution of duties, as well as the allocated vehicle Use and operate an aerial platform and associated tasks as and when required during the pruning and felling of trees and other vegetation Assist with the operation of truck-mounted cranes and other associated tasks as and when required Deliver an emergency service after hours pertaining to the pruning and felling of trees and other vegetation Adhere to all health and safety regulations, and other required policies and procedures Assist with and perform all prescribed safety measures, tasks and duties at road works |
