Job purpose

To manage the operations and maintenance of water distribution infrastructure to ensure effective and efficient service through depots

Appointment 

requirements

An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification (national diploma or degree) in Civil Engineering or in a study field related to the position

Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa will be an added advantage

At least eight years’ relevant working experience in a water and sanitation infrastructure environment

Managerial experience will be an added advantage

Compliance with the unit standards of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act, 2003 (Act 56 of 2003), as prescribed by Regulation 493 of 15 June 2007, as published in Government Gazette 29967 of 15 June 2007, will be an added advantage

A valid Code B driving licence

Computer literacy (advanced Excel) and knowledge of SAP

Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Oversee water distribution in the region

Oversee construction repair work to existing water distribution infrastructure

Oversee the maintenance of existing infrastructure structural assets

Oversee the execution of preventative maintenance on water distribution infrastructure

Ensure and manage the execution of operational contracts

Manage on-site water distribution system operations

Manage logistical, personnel and administrative operations

Manage distribution networks and new product evaluation operations

Manage water distribution customer care operations
