Job purpose                  

To supervise and assist with duties carried out by subordinates at waste water treatment works to ensure that a clean and hygienic workplace is maintained, to assist with loading and offloading equipment, to dig and fill trenches, to oversee that tool stores are kept neat and tidy and to assist senior personnel with operational duties

 

 

Appointment 

requirements

Grade 10

At least six months’ experience within a waste water treatment environment will be an added advantage

Knowledge of maintenance of mechanical equipment will be an added advantage

Physical fitness and health

Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Willingness and ability to work overtime and shifts as and when required

Primary functions

Conduct team supervision to purify waste water discharged by a pipe system into the waste water treatment works to a quality that meets the requirements of the Water Act, 1956 (Act 54 of 1956)

Assign and delegate instructions regarding the operation of work on weekends and after hours

Ensure that duties are carried out

Be in charge of erecting scaffolding for installation of equipment
