Job purpose

To cut grass in all developed and undeveloped areas, at parks, on traffic islands and at sport and recreational facilities

Ability to perform duties

Basic literacy

Lawnmower operator’s course

Relevant experience in a professional gardening services environment

Physical fitness and good health with the ability to carry equipment and machines

Willingness and ability to work shifts

Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Ability to understand and follow given instructions; no physical disabilities; overall good health; no back problems, ability to keep to strict deadlines; ability to work in extreme weather conditions which are physically threatening; physical fitness to work outdoors

Primary functions

Cut grass in all developed and undeveloped areas, at parks, on traffic islands and at sport and recreational facilities by means of lawnmowers and brush cutters

Conduct general maintenance work in all public open spaces and at facilities in order to improve the quality of the environment

Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993)
