Job purpose |
To maintain and operate Rietvlei Water Purification Works according to the specifications as described by SABS241/2015 in such a way that the dam water can be purified for domestic and industrial use |

Appointment requirements |
An appropriate career-related tertiary qualification (three-year national diploma or degree) in Water Care, Chemical Engineering or Analytical Chemistry At least two years’ relevant experience at a water treatment plant Must be registered or eligible to register as a Class IV or higher Process Controller in terms of the National Water Act, 1998 (Act 36 of 1998) and current regulations Supervisory experience will be an added advantage A valid Code B driving licence Computer literacy Willingness and ability to work standby, shifts and overtime when necessary Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost |

Produce and monitor the quality of drinking water Adjust chemical dosages Monitor the general performance of different treatment points in the plant, from inlet to end point Conduct sampling and analysis of water Supervise the duties of assistant process controllers Prepare weekly and monthly reports |
