Job purpose

To conduct security evaluations, to give input and advice on existing and proposed new developments and to maintain security systems in order to enhance the safety and security of all City of Tshwane personnel and visitors to and the communities of Tshwane

 

Appointment 

requirements

Grade 12

A career-related qualification will be an added advantage

At least two years’ relevant experience

Supervisory experience will be an added advantage

Experience in an electronic and physical security risk evaluation environment will be added advantage

A valid Code B driving licence

Computer literacy

No criminal record (excluding previous convictions relating to political activities in the previous dispensation), no pending criminal cases (awaiting trial) or disciplinary cases and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken (at applicant’s own cost)

The applicant’s name should not appear on the register for sexual offenders

Must be willing to undergo a vetting process as determined by the Tshwane Metro Police Department

Willingness and ability to work shifts

Applicants must be willing to be placed or deployed anywhere in Tshwane from time to time, as required and determined by the departmental management

Primary functions

Execute generic supervisory functions

Ensure and monitor security system maintenance and physical security evaluation operations

Execute maintenance of electronic and physical security systems

Set standards for project and programme implementation

Ensure a safe and secure environment

Issue access codes to security systems and authorisations

Issue codes to security systems and authorisations

Liaise with role players

Conduct project evaluation
