Appointment requirements |
An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification (national diploma or degree) in Accounting, Financial Management or Internal Auditing or National Diploma: Public Finance Management and Administration (SAQA Qualification ID No 49554) or any other financial study field related to the position At least six years’ relevant working experience in a payroll administrative support environment Supervisory experience will be an added advantage A valid Code B driving licence Computer literacy with SAP proficiency and advanced Excel skills Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost |

Primary functions |
Assist the senior specialist in managing corporate internal controls to support informed decision-making and the application of budget control measures in line with approved policy and legislative requirements, respectively, such as technical general ledger alignments, etc Assist the senior specialist in providing financial advice to internal clients (departments) on performance reporting and budget control measures, as well as the application of budget allocations Assist the senior specialist in developing processes, procedures, templates and reporting formats for circulation and implementation corporately to ensure timeous, accurate and relevant data and information for financial reporting Assist the senior specialist in monitoring and reconciling corporate votes (general and assessment rates) and the divisional cost centre for reporting in the monthly report Assist the senior specialist in coordinating and preparing monthly and quarterly in-year National Treasury input forms and documents for lodging to the National Treasury (Appendix B formats and BEC Checklist) Assist the senior specialist in the monitoring of National Treasury lodgements (borrowing and monitoring report, entities, LTC, PPP, 12 urgent priorities) Assist the senior specialist in coordinating, collating and preparing annual Appendix A documents for submission to the National Treasury and the provincial government Assist the senior specialist in supplying statistical information for reporting purposes Assist in determining policy regarding control over deviations and presentation thereof to Council for approval |
