Job purpose

To design, implement, manage and continuously improve the organisation’s cybersecurity infrastructure in order to protect information systems, networks, applications and data from cyber threats

Appointment 

requirements

An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification (national diploma or degree) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or any ICT-related study field

The following relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage: Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate; Microsoft Certified Cloud Security

At least three years’ experience in enterprise cybersecurity, ICT security operations or systems engineering in a medium-to-large ICT environment

A valid Code B driving licence

Computer literacy

Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Primary functions

Implement, administer and maintain enterprise cybersecurity technologies and controls to protect the City’s ICT infrastructure, systems and information assets

Monitor, detect, investigate and respond to cybersecurity threats and incidents to minimise risk and ensure the resilience of ICT services

Implement cybersecurity governance, risk management and compliance measures in order to ensure adherence to organisational policies, industry standards and regulatory requirements

Promote continuous improvement of cybersecurity capabilities through technical guidance, collaboration, cyber resilience initiatives and the implementation of emerging security technologies
