Job purpose

To function as a physical support service to a team which executes required maintenance and road building work

Ability to perform duties

Basic literacy

Relevant experience performing hard labour during maintenance and on road building sites will be an added advantage

Physical fitness and health

Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions

Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Primary functions

Place road safety signs and control traffic as required

Prepare the site for the placement of asphalt

Excavate and place road building material

Assist with fetching water and mix material

Spray and paint emulsion

Place and spread asphalt

Clean the site

Operate the equipment as trained and in a safe manner
