Appointment requirements |
An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification (national diploma or degree) in Economics or any other study field related to the position At least nine years’ relevant working experience in an economic development environment, of which at least four years must be at managerial level A valid Code B driving licence Computer literacy Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost |

Primary functions
|
Manage, mentor and build the capacity of a team of economists, policy analysts and researchers to ensure high performance and continuous development Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including other government departments, academia and industry, to ensure research relevance and policy coherence Direct the development of high-quality economic research to inform strategic policy decisions across key government priorities Deliver support services in performance management and the reward and recognition programme for permanent employees Conducting research to support the executive monitoring of the different city economic strategies and plans Support the coordination of different governance structures overseeing economic development and growth initiatives in the City Supporting the regular publishing of economic data publications in the city Supporting the economic research agenda of the City Ensuring integration of economic planning into other planning regimes of the City |
