Appointment requirements |
Grade 12 and a national diploma in Water Care, Chemical and Analytical Chemistry or any other water-related field At least three years’ relevant working experience in a water treatment environment Eligibility to register as Class IV Process Controller Supervisory experience in a water treatment environment will be an added advantage A valid Code B driving licence Computer literacy Willingness and ability to work shifts, overtime and standby Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost |

Primary functions |
Ensure the smooth operation of all process units and filters, dosing pumps, level controllers and the correct flow of raw water Monitor the plant and buildings for wear and tear, report defects and ensure that repairs and maintenance are carried out Ensure general cleanliness and hygiene of the plant Notify consumers and landowners downstream when scouring or flooding is expected Ensure data collection from pumps and that water quality tests are performed by operators on dosing equipment and any other instrumentation, and verify such Ensure operations and maintenance of own sources, boreholes and springs Order all chemicals as specified and ensure that the dosage is correct Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993) Ensure the capturing of daily and monthly analysis, including meter readings Attend or conduct monthly plant meetings and keep information and records for Blue Drop assessments and management Monitor daily production and the quality of drinking water, including the quality of raw water Conduct advancements to comply with the latest SANS 241 |
