Appointment requirements |
An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification (national diploma or degree), BEng or BTech in Electrical Engineering or any other study field related to the position Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa will be an added advantage At least seven years’ relevant experience in a municipal electricity environment Managerial experience will be an added advantage A valid Code B driving licence Computer literacy Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost |

Primary functions |
Manage and ensure that the processing of applications for electricity supply are in accordance with national regulatory standards Manage and ensure that planning and design for the supply of electricity is done in accordance with Council standards and in collaboration with specialist engineering Manage and ensure that the calculation of quota charges and connection fees are in accordance with Council policy and the tariff structure Manage and ensure that all payments are made in accordance with Council policy and procedures Manage and ensure that works instructions issued to the works depot are issued in good time and are correct and logical Manage personnel to ensure an effective and motivated work team Be responsible for a realistic budget and adherence thereto Compile a monthly report on the activities of the connections section Draft reports to Council for approval Attend meetings with internal and external role players Control expenditure within budget parameters |
