Job purpose

To serve as assistant process controller in maintaining and operating Rietvlei Water Purification Plant according to specifications as described by SANS 241/2015

Appointment 

requirements

Ability to perform duties (including physical ability, basic literacy and experience)

Experience in a water treatment environment will be an added advantage

Ability to carry out physically hard labour tasks

Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Willingness and ability to work shifts, standby and overtime

Primary functions

Assist process controllers with the filter backwash

Monitor and clean flocculation channels

Assist process controllers during offloading bulk chemicals

Assist process controllers during filter maintenance

Monitor, descum and clean dissolve air flotation filters

Desludge settling tanks (sedimentation)

Assist process controllers in connecting and disconnecting chlorine drums
