Job purpose

To receive complaints by telephone and/or radio, relay related information to the blockage removal teams and register all relevant data on the computerised information management system

 

Appointment

Grade 12

At least six months’ relevant working experience in administrative support

Computer literacy

Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Primary functions

Receive complaints daily

Determine the nature of reported blockages and register the address in the complaint book and/or on the computer information system

Register all relevant information of the complainant (name, address, erf number,

street number, suburb and telephone number) on the system

Report non-sewerage-related complaints, like water leaks and storm water complaints, to the relevant departments, divisions or sections

Address incorrect information received with the person or body that registered a complaint

Relay complaints (with the proper and correct information) to the relevant team by radio

Ensure that radio conversations are always according to correct protocol

Regularly report back to supervisors and management to keep them informed

Make the necessary corrections on blockage removal slips after completion by blockage removal personnel

Report out of order radios and telephones to the relevant bodies

Assist with the computerisation of job cards and blockage removal slips
